Vasileios Giannakoulopoulos is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with extensive senior-level professional experience in audit, assurance, and financial management, as well as a proven track record in executive leadership positions within the audit sector. He has served as Member of the Board of Directors of OSE S.A. (Hellenic Railways Organization) and Chairman of its Audit Committee, as well as Board Member of OPEKEPE as representative of the Ministry of Finance, contributing substantially to the enhancement of corporate governance, transparency, and supervisory oversight. He also serves as Certified Auditor and Evaluator for projects under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), participating in initiatives of significant institutional and developmental importance. Throughout his career, he has held the positions of Equity Partner, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of the Board of BDO Hellas S.A., and previously occupied senior management roles in leading audit firms. He possesses in-depth knowledge of regulatory and accounting frameworks (IFRS, IAS, and Greek GAAP), along with extensive experience in audit and assurance engagements and in the evaluation of investment and development programs. He holds a Certified Public Accountant license (SOEL) and a Certified Economist license from the Economic Chamber of Greece, and is registered in the Expert Registry under Article 11 of Law 4469/2017 as well as in the Registry of Auditors and Evaluators under Development Law 4399/2016.
He holds a BA in Economics from Middlesex University (London) and is a member of the Economic Chamber of Greece. He is recognized for his analytical thinking, strong communication skills, and ability to operate effectively in complex and demanding environments. He is fluent in Greek and English.
